Special 3 and 4 (4.17; The End of Time)
Filming on The Waters of Mars began on 23 February 2009. The episode will air “November-ish“.
Russell T Davies told Doctor Who Magazine:
“[The second Special] promises to be one of our scariest adventures ever. Events are going to darken around the Tenth Doctor as he leads towards the end of his tenure, and it all starts in Episode 4.16, as he and his co-stars are plunged into a world of terror. [...] This story is looking truly thrilling and nightmarish.”
The BBC announced that:
Adelaide is head of the Mars Base and doesn’t take kindly to an uninvited appearance by The Doctor.

Pre-production started on 23 February 2009. Production itself is expected to have started around the end of March.
By 25 June, editing work has probably moved over from 4.17 to The End of Time.
The Torchwood producer, Peter Bennett, has joined the team as First Assistant Director. The two-parter will mark the end of Tennant’s tenure as the Tenth Doctor.
The End of Time will be 75 minutes long and features a character called Addams.

Dreamland is an animated story which will be broadcast on CBBC and BBCi later this year. It will be in seven episodes, each six minutes in length (totalling just under 45 minutes, the same length of a normal Doctor Who episode).
