Sarah Jane series 3 titles revealed

The titles for the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures have been revealed in DWM 412, out this week. The six stories, each consisting of two episodes, are respectively: Prisoner of the Judoon by Phil Ford, The Mad Woman in the Attic by Joseph Lidster, The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith by Gareth Roberts, The Eternity Trap by Phil Ford, Mona Lisa’s Revenge by Phil Ford, and The Gift by Rupert Laight.

Sarah Jane casting

The latest issue of DWM has revealed quite a few cast names for the upcoming third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Episodes 3 and 4 feature Souad Faress, Gregg Sulkin, Eleanor Tomlinson, Toby Parkes, Rai Rajani and Kate Fleetwood.

Episodes 5 and 6 feature Zienia Merton.

Episodes 7 and 8 feature Floella Benjamin, Adam Gillen, Donald Sumpter, Tony Boncza, Amelia Clarkson and Callum Blue.

Episodes 9 and 10 feature Suranne Jones, Jeff Rawle and Liza Sadovy.

Lizo Mzimba also appeares.

In addition, Russell has all but said that there is a confirmed fourth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures.


Bafta Cymru nominations

The Welsh BAFTA nominations have been announced, and eleven nominations go to Upper Boat shows.

The nominations for the Whoniverse programmes are:

  • Best Drama Series/Serial for Television – Doctor Who
  • Best Director of Photography: Rory Taylor for Silence in the Library
  • Best Sound – the Doctor Who sound team for Midnight
  • Best Editor – Philip Kloss for Midnight
  • Best Make-Up – Barbara Southcott for The Next Doctor
  • Best Screenwriter – Russell T Davies for Midnight
  • Best Original Music Soundtrack – Murray Gold for Midnight
  • Best Director: Film/Drama – Euros Lyn for Silence in the Library
  • Best Interactive – the Doctor Who website
  • Best Design – Edward Thomas for Adrift (Torchwood)
  • Best Costume – Ray Holman for From Out of the Rain (Torchwood)
  • Best Children’s Programme: The Sarah Jane Adventures

The winners will be announced in May.


Red Nose Day update

The Sarah Jane Adventures site has been updated with some content for the Red Nose Day special which will air during the first hour of Comic Relief tomorrow night.

The content includes three wallpapers featuring the Red Noses, as well as an exclusive teaser clip from the mini episode.


Red Nose Day SJA Special

February 14, 2009

For Red Nose Day, on 13 March 2009, there will be a special mini-adventure of The Sarah Jane Adventures, with regulars Elisabeth Sladen, Tommy Knight, Daniel Anthony and Anjli Mohindra with guest star Ronnie Corbett.

It will be written by Gareth Roberts and Clayton Hickman, and feature robot dog K9.

News from DWM 405

February 14, 2009

In DWM 405, it is announced that starting from Planet of the Dead, Doctor Who is to be shot in High Definition (HD). Torchwood is already in HD, but Doctor Who was delayed because of the high number of effects shots.

More cast names were announced for Planet of the Dead – Reginald Tsiboe, Ellen Thomas, Victoria Alcock, Daniel Kaluuya, David Ames, Keith Parry, Adam James, Glenn Doherty and James Layton.

It is also announced that for part of the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures, K9 will make an appearance, in approximately half the episodes.
